About Service Area Maps
Service Area Maps lets you create interactive maps with a radius around any address or location. Whether you're a local business, delivery service, or territory-based professional, this tool helps you clearly show how far your reach extends.
For example - this is an embedded map using our code on a page:
Just enter an address, choose your radius and zoom level, and we’ll generate a map you can embed or share instantly. No signup required.
Show States You Cover
And you can now select states you serve, like this:
Zoom Level
If you're having trouble with it displaying, then try increasing or decreasing the zoom. Here's a table explaining roughly what the zoom levels mean:
Zoom | View |
---|---|
3–5 | Country/continent |
6–7 | State/large region |
8–9 | Metro area |
10–11 | City/suburb level |
12–14 | Neighborhood/street |
15+ | Detailed building/block |
FREE Business Listing
As a bonus, list your business information and you'll get a free listing for your website. This is good for SEO (search engine optimization) as it provides you with a citation and link to your website.
These Maps are Great for Your Website and SEO
Embedding one of our service area maps on your website will help your website in many ways. First, you better qualify customers contacting you. If they know you don't service their area, they won't contact you. Also, people who were wondering if you provide service in their area will be more likely to contact you if they see you showing you serve their area.
And then if you're getting a link, mini-profile, and citation (name, address, and phone listing) from this website, it will help your website show up in the Google local Map Pack.
One, good strategy with these maps is to embed one on every location page on your website - great if you have multiple locations. And you should have separate pages for each location - not have all locations on one page. That way, Google and other search engines have one page they can send people to for services in your area. Write about your area, list your address, phone, and even directions on how to get to your place (even though there's GPS). Listing street names and area landmarks shows search engines you're connected in that area.

Privacy
We don’t collect any personal information, and we don’t track you across the web. When you create a map, the address, radius, and map settings are stored so your map can be displayed and shared — but that’s it.
We use basic analytics to understand how the site is being used (like total map views), but nothing is tied to individual users. No accounts, no email required, no hidden tracking scripts.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create a radius map?
Just enter an address or location, choose your desired radius, and the tool will generate a clean, shareable map. You can link to it, embed it, or download it as a standalone HTML file.
Does this work worldwide?
Yes, but we only offer different states in the US at this point.
Is ServiceAreaMaps.com free to use?
Yes! You can create as many maps as you need, and there’s no account or payment required. We may add premium features later, but the core tool is—and will remain—free.
Can I embed the map on my own website?
Absolutely. Each map has a unique link and simple embed code you can copy and paste into your own site or CMS.
Can I use this for emergency planning?
Yes. This tool is ideal for quickly mapping containment zones, evacuation areas, or service coverage. It’s been used by emergency responders, municipalities, schools, and news outlets.
How accurate is the radius?
The tool uses geographic coordinates and great-circle distance to draw the radius, so it's accurate for most general use cases. It’s not meant for survey-grade precision but works great for planning, communication, and public alerts.
What if I don't want the radius drawn?
Just set to radius to 0 and it won't be drawn on the map generated.
Can I save or print the map?
You can take a screenshot, share the map link, or download the HTML version to use offline or archive it for later use. It’s designed for flexibility.
Why isn't my map showing on the All Maps page?
Your map must have at least 5 views to show up there. Some people create a few maps to get the right settings (since we don't require a login), so we had to set a limit of at least 5 views to show up on the All Maps page. This helps ensure the maps listed there are the ones put into production.
Can the map span the whole width of the page?
Yes, using the "Display at Full Width" option makes the map take the full width available. This is nice for a map on each page of your website right above the footer, which many websites have - especially service companies.
